PAWLISA PROJECT: Training Total, March 2019

March Totals

March was a tough month! A lot of training and two races, one triathlon and one marathon. My total number of workouts declined due to me tapering for the triathlon and marathon and then recovering from both with a short vacation to the desert and return to NYC the last week. I ended up doing longer workouts and training sessions to prepare for the LA Marathon. I added a few more yoga sessions to increase flexibility and overall stability and strength. I completed the Super Seal Triathlon and one week later completed the LA Marathon. Last month was going to be hard beat since I put in some serious two-a-days and had no races that month. Below are my March workout totals:

Races Completed:

-Super Seal Triathlon (San Diego, CA) March 17

-LA Marathon (Los Angeles, CA) March 24th

Workouts:46

Time: 48:36:49 Avg 1:04:30

Calories: 22,812

Run:93.29 miles

Swim: 4.460 yds

Bike: 106.18 miles

Yoga: 7 classes

Strength:14

Push-ups:1,930

Pull-ups:286

I was starting to feel very tired and hungry so I had to adjust some a few things. I felt like I overtraining (and this may have been the case but I really feel it was more of my under recovering). My sleep was not great at all and it defiantly impacted me. Iā€™m going to make a few adjustments to my training, recovery and nutrition this month. The sauna has been great for my recovery. I know do 20-30 min 4-5 days a week. I did not add the Cryotherapy to my regimen, one reason was the price was just not worth it to me. Instead, I just do 3-4 min of the coldest shower possible. My full Ironman training kicks off in April so I will be cutting back on the strength session a bit and focusing on getting my legs stronger on the bike. So look for a big increase in my running, biking and swimming miles! Stay Hard!!
